HESSDALEN, NORWAY LOCATION: Mount Finnsåhøgda south, in direction east. DATE/TIME: 25 September 1982, approximately 19:30 PHOTO CREDIT: Arne P. Thomassen. COMMENTS: You see the light just above the hill Heggsethøgda. In the background you see mount Stordalshøgda. Two groups of people, located 2.5 km (1.5 mile) apart, saw this light at the same time. These two groups were in contact by walkie-talkie during the observation, and discussed the location of the light, while they were seeing the phenomena. When this picture was taken, the light was 2.5 km south-east of the observers which took the picture, and 3 km south of the other group of people (Erling Strand was in that group), which were located at the hill Vårhuskjølen. The light showed up at 19:15, and moved slowly around in the area for one and a half hour (until 20:45). During this time could it be standing still for several minutes, move slowly to another location, standing still there for some minutes. It could move slowly around in the area. Sometimes a beam of light could be seen coming up and down from the phenomenon. The observers could see that the beam illuminated the ground beneath the light. Copyright 2003 Project Hessdalen.
