WELCOME TO THE INTERNATIONAL EARTHLIGHT ALLIANCE (IEA) WEB SITE!
|
Have you ever encountered something unusual and couldn't find a good explanation or reliable source of information? If you are curious about the unexplained, you are in the right place!
We are scientists dedicated to investigating the truth about mysterious and unexplained phenomena. We find that many phenomena have ordinary explanations but some remain mysteries worthy of further scientific investigation. Investigation of phenomena now considered mysterious may lead to new and useful discoveries because today's anomaly may be tomorrow's technology.
Two main goals of IEA’s research are to bring to light new and useful discoveries that have valuable and practical applications such as alternative energy and earthquake forecasting. Another important goal is to use fascinating mysteries to attract student and public interest in science.
One focal project is the study of a phenomenon called earthlights. Glowing balls of light have been reported far back in history. Until recently, stories and observations of lights from all over the world were considered religious and superstitious lore. For instance, Aboriginal people in Australia believed the glowing lights they saw were spirits of their ancestors, while Native Americans near Marfa Texas believed their lights were ghosts of a chief who led his tribe to war, while Native Americans near Brown Mountain North Carolina believed they were spirits of Indian maidens looking for their lost warriors killed in battle. Even the Bible has several accounts of glowing phenomena. Until recently, scientists wrote these accounts off as superstition. But, about 25 years ago, the development of high speed film and low-light digital photography enabled us to document the existence of these glowing lights as a valid physical phenomenon.
What is it that causes the air to glow at certain locations? Does it require a large amount of energy either below or above the ground? Could this energy be harnessed as an alternative energy source? Anomalous lights have been documented before major earthquakes. Could a better understanding of the mechanism of the lights give insight to earthquake forecasting? IEA pursues these fascinating and practical questions….and more.
IEA is part of an international team investigating mysterious
phenomena. We are scientists and engineers whose work in mainstream science has been internationally published and recognized. We are curious about the unexplained, standing with one foot solidly on the ground, we reach for the stars exploring anomalies with open minds, and without foregone conclusions. We are not proponents of any phenomenon, but rather look at empirical data and test it with high tech conventional methods.
Have a look around the web site, you will read about and see pictures of earthlights and other fascinating phenomena. Only a small amount of the research is on this web site so far. There are many interesting phenomena waiting in the wings so return to this site to see what’s new. Better yet, fill out the form below and we will notify you when new material is sporadically available. Best yet, join IEA and get advance notice, be the first to know about discoveries and further the research.
